FAIREST OF THE FAIRS

The fair is off and running Starting at 6pm Thursday evening The Event kicked off with the Houston County award wining band playing a series of songs and then came the Stars Spangled Banner and a prayer . Philip chambers was the emcee. There were thank you to the people who worked so hard to make the event com to pass.Next came a ice creme social,the Fairest of the Fair beauty contest, the tool race and finished with the preparation of honey by area bee keepers for what the finish of the fair for the day. A sweet idea and according to most we spoke to they hoped the fair would continue and grow over the coming years. I will see you Friday as the great cook off gets started. One thing that was paticularly popular was the bull ride especially after county historian Nina Finley rode the bull.
