The Gathering

“On May 5th, “The Gathering” met at the Irish Grill in Erin. Our special guest, Martha Pile, UT Extension Agent of Montgomery County discussed the Houston County project of producing a community level brochure to advertise individuals involved in “Homestead Economics”. These are entrepreneurs of food based, organic food, artists, crafters and hobbyists, entertainers, and specialized instruction to name a few. The group plans to create 3 brochures highlighting the three main areas of Houston County. Interested parties may contact the following committee members for your area to complete a SHORT form.

Advertising in the brochures is FREE and supported with a Sustainable Community Innovation Grant. Our first submission deadline is June 9, 2008 and brochures will be printed and available in July 2008.
“The Gathering” will next meet June 9, 2008 at the Erin Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Erin. Carlene Seay will give a brief tour of this historical landmark, lunch will be served and Martha Pile will discuss grants, certified kitchens, patents and other topics of interest.
