H1N1 Vaccination Update

As you have no doubt seen in the news, local health department have received limited quantities of both forms of the H1N1 vaccine.
We are currently providing the injectable vaccine to high priority recipients only: pregnant women, children 6 months through 24 years of age, caregivers/household contacts of children, healthcare workers and First Responders. If you are in one of these groups, you may receive the vaccination now. There is no charge.
In Houston County, please call 931-289-3463 for an appointment.
Stewart County is taking walk-ins 7:30-4:00 Monday through Friday. If you prefer, call 931-232-5329 for an appointment.
The current level of activity can be managed by our health department staff.
If and when the amount of vaccine and number of eligible recipients exceeds those resources, we will identify specific dates and times to schedule additional workers. If you are scheduled to work, you will be eligible for the vaccine as a healthcare worker.
We will provide more definite information when it is available.
Thank you for your continued interest and support.
