RESIDENTS PACK THE HOUSE FOR JUNIOR MISS PAGEANTS

By TERESA SETTLE NORRIS
Tennessee Express News Writer
The excitement was palpable inside the forum of Houston County High School Friday night (March 5, 2010) as residents swarmed to see who would be crowned Junior Miss Houston County for ages 11 & 12 and then for ages 13 & 14.
When all was said and done, Abigayle Lauren Dew, a seventh grader at Houston County Middle School, was crowned queen in the 11-12 category. The daughter of Dwight and Kristi Dew, Abbey wore a lovely white ball gown with spaghetti straps, a sequined bodice, and a lace-up back.
In the 13-14 age category, judges had an almost impossible decision to make, but no one could argue that Shania Michenne Story didn't make the perfect queen in a brown dress that looked just-made for her as she floated through the pageant with poise and grace. The daughter of Jamie and Michenne Story, Shania is an eighth grader at HCMS. Her long blonde hair was pulled up with flowing curls in the back.
Stay tuned for more coverage, including the runner-ups, all pageant contests, the judges, and the night's emcee. Also, turn to Channel 12 for a complete broadcast of the pageant, thanks to your friends at the Wells Creek Basin network!
